What's your top 5? Belief Positivity Woo Includer Futuristic How do you see them playing out in your life? My top five strengths show up in my everyday life. I have found Belief guides my steps daily in alignment with my purposes and values in life. I see Positivity at work when I wake up with a smile on my face. It seems I have an internal gauge or meter reading “strictly positive” at all hours of the day. With Woo and Includer working hand in hand, I find that there are no strangers in my life. Every stranger is simply a friend I have yet to meet and make feel welcome in my world. And lastly, Futuristic is a strength evidenced by the words I use in my daily language. I am confident that today is a great day, but I also know there is a greater tomorrow ahead. What's your favorite theme? Futuristic – I find that with futuristic being one of my top five strengths, life seems to be a little more exciting. You can walk in my home or peek into my office desk at work and find that I know where I am going. I long for people to ask me what I am up to in life because I can always see where I will be not many years from now. I have vision boards and even a vision statement for my life that I look at daily. Early in the morning I will rise and take a long walk on the beach thinking about where I will be 2 years, 5 years, 10 years from that point. What will I be doing? What car will I be driving? What cool vacation destination will I be resting at? How much money will I make a year? What will occupy most of my time? All these questions drive me in the present moment to take action and step-by-step make it to the destination of my strength. What's the one theme that "gets in your way"? Positivity – Believe it or not, positivity is one of my strengths that can “get in my way” at times. I find that sometimes my positivity, though it be a “positive” strength, can be harmful to others that are dealing with hardships or grievances in their lives. Most every person I know goes through storms in life. I happen to go through most every storm with a smile on my face (Positive strength). My strength can hinder my relationships with new people I meet as well. With positivity, like all strengths, I can gage how strong it flows in my life. By simply toning my strength down at certain times and toning it up at other times, I can have my strength be a strength and not “get in my way.” How has knowing your top 5 empowered you to live a more authentic life? It is a true blessing to know what my top five strengths are. I am beginning to really own my strengths and take them on in every area of my life, and people notice. Simply knowing my top five has allowed me to walk in a confidence that I feel I never had. Knowledge is power. Knowing my top five strengths has opened my eyes to a whole new way of living, where I feel I am truly devoting my strengths (gifts, talents, and abilities) to a purpose. This is who I am. These strengths are my strengths because I was designed this way. I am genuinely happier, more loving, and more graceful with people. Knowing my strengths has enabled me to see the strengths in others and in turn provide me with a more satisfying life that I get to live today. Thank you strengths for all your help! Those talented with the Focus theme have the ability to stay single-minded and on-point with any project or commitment they devote themselves to. How do they think? “Where am I headed” is a constant question that guides the intentions and motivations of those with Focus. They have the ability to solely concentrate on the task at hand and evaluate the things that may or may not keep them on task. How do they feel? Those with Focus are easily irritated by delays and inconveniences that may distract them from their goals. They don't function as well without having goals to concentrate on and to measure themselves against. How do they behave? The Focus theme allows individuals to have intense concentration on the task at hand. You want someone with high Focus on your team if you are trying to meet a deadline and need to stay on–track. They avoid time consuming distractions and help others on their team to do the same. They help team members set goals and keep their commitment to their goals by leading by example. IDEATION|INDIVIDUALIZATION|INPUT|STRATEGIC| DELIBERATIVE 2. How do you see them playing in your life? Ideation-Usually when listening to others talk, I want to blurt out "I have an idea..." Really creative ideas flow like a faucet and I often need to edit a high volume of them so not to overwhelm others. Individualization-I love spending quality time with small groups of people, asking them really great questions and learning interesting things about them. Weekly, I schedule large doses of time like this. It feeds me- and usually them- and allows me to flourish! Input-I lost a great deal of my memory many years ago [ its back! ] because I was constantly collecting a wide variety of information and resources, just in case I needed it for others. The evernote app has enabled me to not clutter my mind with so much, but to quickly file anything away for instant retrieval when needed. Strategic- When I am working on an interior design project for a client, I love to create an innovative solution to a problem others don't think can be solved. Deliberative- I tend to give alot of thought to bigger decisions. While sometimes WAY too much time spent unnecessarily, I usually make solid choices. Having a really great peer accountability friend who is a strong activator, I spend more time the balcony than basement of deliberative. 3. What's your favorite theme? Ideation absolutely gives me the most oxygen! I thrive not only on being an innovator but to create solutions that are a perfect fit and on target to make a meaningful difference. 4. What's the one theme that "get's in your way?" My "deliberative" strength often has me aiming too long before I fire. For example, I was deliberating about when to get trained as a strengths coach and a close colleague, who is an activator, got me out of the basement of deliberative and encouraged me to hop on the plane within 2 weeks! No regrets. 5. How has knowing your top 5 empowered you to live a more authentic life? Having the affirmation gave me the permission to reimagine how I spend my time and the insight as to where I was believing a lie. I find it very interesting that in the middle of the word "belief" is the word "LIE"! My lie was that I was great at executing. This was being reinforced by many kudos from others, but they weren't seeing the pain or excessive amount of time it was taking and while I was, the kudos were overshadowing the pain. People typically perceive someone with this talent theme as a "softie" or afraid of confrontation. Men we’ve worked with have even called this a “wimpy” strength. We’re here to set the record straight and show the practicality of the Harmony strength. How do they think? People with the Harmony talent see conflict and confrontation as useless and unproductive. They believe a lot of time is wasted by people trying to impose their views on others. How do they feel? Tension and friction are like sandpaper to someone with Harmony. They feel like the way to come to consensus is to discuss practical matters and finding a common ground. They are not afraid of conflict; they just don’t see the point in engaging in it if there is a better way. And they will usually find a better way to bring people together. How do they behave? Individuals high in Harmony can be described as the peacemakers and will work tirelessly to enhance collaboration in the midst of conflict. They are great at being bridge builders between differing points of view. They are not people you will find that are willing to debate but will find consensus between any areas of friction. In a team environment they will be the people that will let opinions be heard but never let it turn into an argument or lead to idea clashing. They will quickly help the team see each other’s side and draw people together. Tips for living your best life as someone with Harmony:

Achiever, Empathy, Learner, Relator, Developer How do you see them playing out in your life? I’ve learned that my Achiever rules my life and provides me with my motivation and drive. Every day starts at ground zero- I rate the success of my day based on the projects or action items I get accomplished. It can be exhausting because I never stop-luckily, I love my job. In making business decisions, I find myself being thoughtful and a bit methodical at times. I have to look at the situation from all angles and make sure it feels right. My Empathy is an intuitive instinct that allows me to feel the emotions of those around me; good or bad. I can often sense an issue or situation with a co-worker before they bring it to my attention. What's your favorite theme? As a Developer, I enjoy people and get excited about seeing the signs of potential growth in others. Nothing pleases me more than someone who learns, grows and ultimately becomes successful. I also get frustrated with individuals that are talented but don’t embrace the opportunity they’re given. I find that I want the success for them more than they want it for themselves. As the saying goes, “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink”. What's the one theme that "gets in your way"? As an over Achiever, I have a tendancy to over commit and over schedule. My #1 strength is currently in overdrive most days. As a result, I never manage to get my personal “to do” items completed. I’m now making a weekly list and feel equally accomplished and better balanced. How has knowing your top 5 empowered you to live a more authentic life? I’m focusing on my Relator theme in order to get my Achiever theme in check. I’m making the time to cultivate the close one on one personal relationships which I find so rewarding and fulfilling. Work life balance is something I need to work on weekly for my health and well-being. It’s okay to take a personal break, disconnect from technology, and enjoy some down time. I finally scheduled a beach vacation! Want to be featured? We would love to showcase you! Haven't taken Strengths yet? They don’t take things at face value and need to find the why behind the what. How do they think? People with the Analytical strength believe that truth is objective and must be proven or measured. They are always considering the patterns and connections between data and theories and peeling back the onion for what they consider the logical truth. How do they feel? Theories and ideas should be sound and proven legitimate. They feel like credibility is the standard of presenting any idea and will demand that with anyone else presenting their idea. How do they behave? Expect a lot of questions when you share an idea with someone with the Analytical theme. And expect those questions to be sound and challenging. Some may consider them to be rigorous or critical but their motivation is to uncover the most logical truth. Tips to live at your best as a Analytical:

Have you ever been accused of being a bookworm or a nerd? Rest assured, these labels can probably be explained by your Learner theme. Learners have a constant compelling need to acquire and gain knowledge. How do they think? Learners love the process of learning, without the intention of necessarily becoming a subject-matter expert. They are always thinking about the next thing they can learn by looking out for the latest book, the latest website or the latest fad they can educate themselves on. How do they feel? They don’t only love to acquire new knowledge; they feel a innate drive to learn new things. The process of learning makes them feel alive and energized. Highlighting and underlining new information is like medicine to their souls! How do they behave? Remember that learners love the journey of learning, not necessarily the result. Therefore you may find them reading 7 books at once, starting a new dance class or signing up for the latest seminar. They may or may not follow through but it was the process they went through to get there is what drives them. Tips to live at your best as a Learner:
